Life Lately // Summer 2019

I feel like it's been ages since I did an update post like this, but since I've got some spare time on my hands and the motivation to blog, what better time than now?

So here goes.

Lately I've Been...

Reading...
  • Pride and Prejudice, for the fourth time now, I believe. It's been a couple of years since I've picked this book up, and I've been loving every minute of it. There's just something about reading a familiar, favorite book again that kind of feels like revisiting an old friend, you know?
  • Sense and Sensibility, for the second time. Again, I loved reading this one! It had been several years since I had first read it, and I'm very glad I decided to pick it up off my bookshelf. Jane Austen's witticisms and impeccable writing style simply can't be beat.
  • Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge. This was also a reread! I think that must be a theme for this year, as I'm pretty sure I've reread books more than I have read new ones, haha. But anyway, I really do love this quirky, clever spin on Sense and Sensibility. And it was so much fun to read right after S&S and pick up on all of the references and similarities. :)

Watching...
  • Becoming Jane. After listening to the soundtrack a gazillion times, I finally watched the movie since it was available on Netflix. It's not a new favorite or anything, but I did quite enjoy it for the lovely period drama wardrobes and settings.
  • Sense and Sensibility 2008. It's my favorite adaptation of the book and I just really love it, mostly for Hattie Morahan's amazing portrayal of Elinor.
  • Disney Channel movies with my younger sisters--High School Musical 2 (the best one, in my opinion), the Descendants movies, etc. They really do have some catchy songs!
  • Gilmore Girls. Well, I watched a few episodes, I should say, before becoming too annoyed to keep watching by the constant bickering between Lorelai and her mother. Ugh.

Listening to...
  • Period drama soundtracks, but what else is new?
  • This song. It's soo good. My favorite part is when he says, "When my mind says I'm not good enough, God You're enough me."

Loving...
  • My new job at the grocery store Whole Foods! It's such a nice change of pace after working at Chick-fil-A, and as silly as it may sound, I love being able to wear my own clothes to work. ;)
  • Redecorating my room.
  • Learning to draw digitally with Photoshop, albeit slowly. It's so different from traditional drawing and it's a lot to familiarize myself with, but I'm excited to get more comfortable with it!

Well, I think that is all for now. I hope you've all been enjoying your summer so far! I'd love to hear what you've been up to in the comments section. <3

Love,
Molly

  1. I love P&P!! I've read it twice (both times in 2017), but I want to read it again! Right now I'm reading Persuasion which I have really been liking.

That song is awesome. <3 Thanks for sharing! I'm glad to hear that you've been doing well. :)

  2. I love whole foods! The prices are expensive but they always have neat things. That's a store I feel like I could send hours at.
